Good morning!
岁月流金，盛夏启航。今天，我们满怀喜悦与憧憬，隆重举行2026届毕业典礼暨学位授予仪式，共同见证你们圆满完成学业、开启人生新的篇章。在此，我代表学校，向全体毕业生表示最热烈的祝贺！向辛勤培育你们的老师、默默支持你们的家人，致以崇高的敬意！
In this beautiful summer season, we gather with joy and hope to hold the 2026 Commencement and Degree Conferral Ceremony, celebrating your completion of studies and the start of a new chapter in life. On behalf of the university, I congratulate all our graduates, and thank the teachers who have worked hard to educate you and the families who have supported you throughout.
同学们，你们是吉外发展史上具有特殊意义的一批学子。在校的时光里，你们恰逢学校建校三十周年盛典，一同回望“一切为了学生成人、成才、成功”的办学理念、传承“以学生为中心，办最负责任教育”的教育理念，赓续“公益、创业、治学、桥梁”的吉外精神，与母校并肩汇聚起奋勇向前的强大力量。近年来，学校连续七年位列软科中国民办大学排行榜第一，荣膺全国文明校园称号，更是全国民办高校中唯一的博士学位A+立项建设单位。教育部本科教育教学审核评估专家组用“五个有”“六大亮点”“七个更加”盛赞我校，无愧为全国民办高校的一面旗帜。而你们，正是这段光辉岁月的见证者与受益者。在吉外的沃土里，你们勤学笃行、蜕变成长，用青春汗水书写了属于自己的精彩答卷。看到大家学有所成、意气风发，我由衷为你们感到骄傲和自豪！
You are a special class in the history of JISU. You came to JISU during her 30th anniversary--a milestone that gave you the chance to see firsthand what drives this institution: our belief that everything we do is to help you grow into capable adults, achieve your potential, and attain success. You experienced our commitment to putting students first and delivering the most responsible education possible. You carried forward the JISU spirit of public service, entrepreneurship, academic rigor, and building bridges across cultures. Together, you and your alma mater became part of something larger, moving forward with shared purpose and strength. These have been remarkable years for our university. For seven consecutive years, JISU has ranked first among private universities in China in the Shanghai Ranking. We earned the designation of National Civilized Campus. We became the only private university in the nation approved for A+ doctoral program cultivation. When the Ministry of Education’s evaluation team came to JISU, they described the university with “five haves”, “six distinguishing characteristics”, and “seven areas of excellence”--recognition that confirms our standing as a leading private university in China. You were here for this. You lived it. You grew alongside this institution, and you benefited from what it became. At JISU, you worked hard, you challenged yourselves, and you emerged transformed. I am proud of what you have accomplished and who you have become.
同学们，当今世界正经历百年未有之大变局，人工智能浪潮以前所未有的速度和深度重塑着人类文明的面貌。从ChatGPT到DeepSeek，从生成式AI到具身智能，技术迭代之快、影响之深，远远超出了我们的想象。你们这一代人，面临一个更加充满不确定性的世界。这种不确定性，不仅意味着新的重大挑战，也蕴含着宝贵的发展机遇。你们这一代大学生，既是国际新秩序重构和人工智能时代的亲历者，更是这场深刻变革的参与者。面对这样一个“变”字当头的时代，作为校长，我想以“人工智能时代变与不变”为题，与你们分享三点思考。
The world is undergoing transformation on a scale we have not seen in a century. Artificial intelligence is reshaping civilization itself--faster and more profoundly than most of us ever anticipated. From ChatGPT to DeepSeek, from generative AI to embodied intelligence, the pace of change and the depth of its impact have gone beyond our imagination. You are stepping into a world of greater uncertainty than any generation before you. Yet uncertainty is not merely a challenge to endure. It is also the soil from which opportunity grows. You are not here to watch the international order restructure or the AI era unfold from the sidelines. You are living it. You are shaping it. As students of this university, you are participants in one of the most consequential transformations in human history. We live in an age defined by change. As your president, I want to offer three reflections on what changes and what endures in the age of artificial intelligence.
第一，技术迭代日新月异，但“会通中外”的报国初心不能变。当前，人工智能正在打破语言的壁垒、消弭时空的界限，让地球村的联系更加紧密。但技术越是进步，越需要有人文积淀的跨文化沟通者；世界越是联通，越需要有中国立场的国际传播者。人工智能可以处理语言符号，却难以传递人文精神；算法可以生成文本，却难以诠释文明底蕴；技术可以连接世界，却难以沉淀精神风骨。
First, technology may evolve rapidly, but our commitment to bridging China and the world in service to our nation must remain constant. AI is breaking down language barriers and dissolving the boundaries of time and space, bringing our global village closer together. Yet the more technology advances, the more we need cross-cultural communicators grounded in humanistic understanding. The more connected our world becomes, the more we need voices that can speak to the international community from a Chinese perspective. AI can process linguistic symbols, but it cannot convey the human spirit. Algorithms can generate text, but they cannot interpret the depth of civilization. Technology can connect the world, but it cannot cultivate the love of home and country.
同学们，科技无国界，但青年有家国。习近平总书记勉励大家“新时代中国青年处在中华民族发展的最好时期，既面临着难得的建功立业人生际遇，也肩负着‘天将降大任于斯人’的时代使命”。作为吉外的毕业生，心系伟大祖国的赤诚、传承中华文脉的使命、践行人类命运共同体的责任，永远是你们最珍贵的精神坐标。它让你们在纷繁变化的世界里，既能以开放的心态迎接技术变革，又能以坚定的立场守护文化根脉，真正做到“守本心”而不迷失，“驭万变”而有方向。同学们，“学好外国语、做好中国人、讲好中国故事”的育人理念，更是每一位吉外人矢志不渝的毕生追求。希望你们以海纳百川的胸襟拥抱世界，以坚定深厚的文化自信扎根中国，在文明互鉴中架起沟通桥梁，在国际舞台上展现风采，发出新时代中国青年的豪迈声音！
Dear students,
Science and technology know no borders, but young people have a country to serve. As General Secretary Xi Jinping encourages us, “Today’s Chinese youth live in the best era of China’s development. You not only face rare opportunities to achieve great things, but also shoulder the historic mission entrusted to you.” As graduates of JISU, your sincere devotion to the great motherland, your mission to carry forward Chinese cultural heritage, and your commitment to building a community with a shared future for mankind will always be your most precious spiritual compass. It enables you, in a rapidly changing world, to embrace technological change with an open mind, while safeguarding our cultural roots with firm convictions--truly “staying true to our original aspiration” without losing our way, and “navigating through all changes” with a clear direction. Moreover, mastering foreign languages, being proud Chinese citizens, and telling China’s stories well are the unwavering mission and responsibility of every member of JISU. May you embrace the world with open hearts, stand firm in China with profound cultural confidence, build bridges of understanding through mutual learning among civilizations, shine on the global stage, and let the world hear the bold voice of Chinese youth in the new era!
第二，知识更新加速演进，但“求是求新”的治学精神不能变。相比过去，人类面对的知识库变得无比庞大，知识更新可谓瞬息万变。可以说，新技术正以史无前例的变革性力量，颠覆着人类传统知识体系、知识获取路径与能力判断标准，更对你们的成长发展带来全新挑战。
Second, knowledge evolves faster than ever, yet our spirit of seeking truth and pursuing innovation must never waver. Humanity now possesses an unprecedented wealth of knowledge, with new insights emerging constantly. New technologies are reshaping how we build knowledge, how we learn, and what it means to be capable—challenging you to grow in ways no previous generation has faced.
面对这场深刻变革，我想强调的是，越是在变化之中，越要保持定力；越是在喧嚣之中，越要坚守根本。你们真正的核心竞争力，从来不是固化的知识积累，而是持之以恒、终身学习的内生动力；不是被动的信息接收，而是明辨是非、独立思辨的综合素养；不是碎片的知识堆砌，而是触类旁通、融会贯通的深邃智慧。工欲善其事必先利其器。你们要善用人工智能等新技术赋能学习、精进本领。但请记住，人工智能只是工具，人终究不会被机器替代，关键在于你们永远不要放弃独立思考的能力，永远不要停下探寻真理的脚步，更不要丢掉对知识的敬畏之心。“人才有高下，知物由学”。希望你们做好再出发的准备，永葆终身学习的自觉，以不懈求索攀登更高山峰、开拓更广天地。希望你们始终保持探索与进取之心，敏于思考、敢于突破、勇于创新，以扎实学识筑牢根基，凭过硬本领奋勇争先，在充满不确定性的时代把握主动、赢得未来！
In the face of this profound transformation, let me leave you with one thought: the more the world shifts around you, the more you need steadiness within; the more technology offers you convenience, the more you must strengthen what lies at your core. Your true edge has never been what you already know. It is your hunger to keep learning. It is not the passive intake of information, but the disciplined habit of thinking for yourself. It is not the hoarding of disconnected facts, but the wisdom to see patterns and forge understanding across boundaries. Sharpen your tools, as the old saying goes. Use AI to learn better and work smarter. But never forget: AI is a tool. It will not replace you. What defines you is your refusal to stop thinking independently, your refusal to stop seeking truth, your refusal to stop respecting knowledge. Talent varies, but knowledge is earned. Be ready to start over. Make lifelong learning your second nature. Through relentless inquiry, climb higher and see farther. Stay curious. Stay bold. Stay restless to break new ground. Ground yourself in deep learning. Measure yourself by genuine skill. In an age of uncertainty, take the lead and claim your future.
第三，社会生态深刻变迁，但“砺志敦材”的修身根基不能变。当今时代，虚拟社交渐渐冲淡人与人之间真挚的情感联结，流量至上改变了大众的成功评价标准，快节奏的社会运转让不少人心浮气躁，总想抄近路、求速成。面对这一切，同学们更需要思考：什么才是真正值得追寻的价值？什么才是青春应有的姿态？我的答案是：崇德弘毅、志坚行远、砥砺奋斗，永远是青年人安身立命之本。
Third, society is being remade around us. Yet our dedication to cultivating ourselves--to striving for excellence and forging strong character--must not bend. Today, screens mediate what once passed heart to heart. Metrics of attention pass for measures of worth. Speed has become a virtue, patience a liability. In such a world, ask yourself: What is real? What is right? What does it mean to stand upright as a young person? My answer: hold fast to virtue, and forge ahead through struggle. This is the only foundation that endures.
古人云，“非淡泊无以明志，非宁静无以致远”。我们身处的时代，选择越多越需要固守初心，纷扰越多越需要涵养品德。学校从办学之初就始终坚持育人为本，德育为先；始终坚信成才先成人，厚德方能行远，这份底色是你们一生中最宝贵的财富。技术可以优化能力，却塑造不出独属于你们的人格。希望你们不管未来从事什么职业、身处什么境遇，都能守好内心的底线，深耕自身修养，让正直善良、诚实守信、谦逊感恩、乐于奉献的品格成为你们人生最硬的底牌。同学们，在剧变的时代，笃行不怠的奋斗精神绝不能变。艰难困苦，玉汝于成。真正的强者永远在磨砺中升华，真正的价值永远在奋斗中彰显，真正的成功永远在拼搏中铸就。人工智能可以简化流程、提升效率，但从来没有一条捷径可以替代脚踏实地的奋斗，更无法替代你们历经磨砺、淬炼心性、开拓眼界、提升境界。同学们，所有光鲜的成就、所有从容的底气、所有持续的成长，都源于日复一日的沉淀、一点一滴的积累、百折不挠的坚守。同学们，真正成功的人生，都是奋斗出来的。希望你们坚持“天下大事必从细而做”，简单做人，踏实做事，在千锤百炼中完善自我，在矢志奋斗中收获成功，在勇毅拼搏中书写人生华章！
The ancients taught us, “Without simplicity of purpose, one cannot clarify one’s aims; without tranquility of mind, one cannot reach far.” In our age, the more choices we face, the more we need to hold fast to what first moved us. The more distractions surround us, the more we need to tend to our inner life. From its founding, this university has held one belief above all, that is, character precedes achievement, and only deep virtue carries one far. This is the most precious inheritance you take with you today. Technology can sharpen your abilities, but it cannot forge the person only you can become. Whatever path you choose, whatever storms you weather, guard the line your conscience draws. Cultivate your moral core. Let integrity, kindness, honesty, humility, gratitude, and dedication become the bedrock of your life. And in this era of ceaseless change, one thing must not change. It is the spirit of grounded, persistent effort. As the old saying goes, hardship and struggle forge a person of true worth. Genuine strength is tempered in adversity. True value is earned through effort. Real success is built through perseverance. AI can streamline and speed things up, but it offers no shortcut around hard work. It cannot suffer for you, broaden your view, temper your spirit, or forge your backbone. Every achievement that matters, every quiet confidence, every lasting growth—all of it comes from daily accumulation, incremental progress, and unyielding perseverance. A life truly successful is a life truly struggled for. Great things begin small. Be plain in your conduct, steady in your work. Refine yourself through repeated trial. Reap success through determined effort. Write your life's finest chapters through courageous perseverance.
同学们，纵观时代发展，变的是技术、赛道与场景，不变的是初心、担当与奋斗。希望你们走出校园后，既能乘势而上、向新而行，又能以专业为基、以创新为翼、以能力为本，争做懂科技、有思想、有抱负的新时代青年，在跨界融合的广阔舞台上，乘风破浪、绽放光彩、再创辉煌！
Dear students, the arc of our times bends toward change. The instruments alter. The arenas shift. The very ground beneath our feet transforms. Yet what abides? The aim that first called you. The duty that binds you. The labor that defines you. Go from this place with change at your back and the new before you. But let your craft be your ballast. Let innovation be your wind. Let character be your keel. Embrace the bigger world and strive for outstanding achievements.
亲爱的同学们，毕业是大学生活的句号，也是逐梦前行的起点。从今天起，你们将告别母校，独自奔赴人生的新征程。前路漫漫，有风有雨，亦有无限风光；前路浩浩，有起有伏，亦有万般可能。请同学们记住：无论何时，吉外是你们永远的家园、永远的后盾！
Dear students, graduation closes one chapter and opens another. It is the beginning of your journey to pursue what you dream. From today, you leave this campus and step onto your own path. The road is long. Storms will come--but so will views that take your breath away. There will be ups and downs, endings and beginnings. Through all of it, remember: wherever life leads you, JISU stands behind you. You will always have a home here.
